Dr-Jim-photo-cover002I’m Dr Jim Byrne, and I’m in my twenty-second year in counselling and psychotherapy, during which time I have helped more than 1,000 individuals to get over their problems of anger, anxiety, depression, stress, self-confidence, couple conflict and attachment and relationship difficulties.

If you would like to consult me, to get help resolving one or more of your own problems, then my telephone counselling service would work for you.

I offer three levels of Telephone Counselling service, which vary in cost:

– my mini-service: which consists of 30 minutes of conversation about your problem(s), in search of a solution for you;

– median service: 45 minutes of conversation about your problems and potential solutions;

– and my maxi-service: which involves you in completing several assessment forms; then we have a 45 minute conversation about your problems or issues; and then I spend a couple of days assessing all the information I have about you, and writing a comprehensive report which should help you to resolve your most important problem(s).

30 mins of telephone counselling with Dr Jim Byrne– Mini-service: This service involves one telephone conversation, for thirty minutes, to discuss your current problem(s),

and to try to identify some kind of solution or way forward which will produce a better future for you in your current area of difficulty.

The cost of the telephone call is borne by you.

To reduce costs, we could talk over Skype (voice-only, no web camera).

Mini-service – Telephone Counselling with Dr Jim Byrne – 30 minutes

This service allows you to phone me and talk to me for 30 minutes about your most urgent or most important problem(s); and to ask for my guidance and support in resolving your problem(s). I will use my twenty-one years experience to help you.

45 mins of telephone counselling plus personality assessment– Median service:  This service involves a similar telephone conversation, but for 45 minutes.

And, in addition, I will ask you to complete a personality assessment, before our telephone conversation, so that I have a good understanding of ‘who you are’ (at the moment!).

This will help me to fine-tune my approach to communicating with you during our conversation, and also help me to understand your presenting problem(s) in the light of how you tend to behave in your interpersonal world.

Median Service – Telephone Counselling with Dr Jim Byrne – 45 minutes

This service allows you to phone me for a 45 minute conversation about your current problem or problems, and to ask for my support, advice and recommendations regarding potential solutions. I will also ask you to complete a personality assessment questionnaire, which will help me to optimize my communication with you, for the benefit of solving your problem more effectively.

Telephone counselling plus detailed report– Maxi-service: This service has three elements:

The first element involves you in completing a number of assessments: (These include: personality adaptations; attachment style; conflict styles; and perhaps one other).

The second element involves a telephone conversation for 45 minutes to discuss your presenting problem, in the context of your assessment results.

And the third element involves me in spending two or three days (and sometimes a lot longer!) digesting what I have learned from our meeting, and your assessment results; then drafting a substantial report summarizing my findings; and then sending you a report containing my insights, and action recommendations designed to move your life forward in a positive direction.

Maxi-service – Telephone Counselling with Dr Jim Byrne – 45 minutes plua a detailed report with recommended solutions

This option also involves 45 minutes of telephone conversation with me, about your problem situation(s). In addition, I will ask you to complete three or four assessment questionnaires. After our telephone conversation, I will reflect upon what I have learned about you, your problems, and your assessment results. From all of the collected data, I will construct a detailed report containing analysis, insights, and recommended solutions to your problem(s).

Telephone-client3.jpgIf you are struggling with mild to moderate problems of anger, anxiety and/or depression; or couple or marriage conflict; or communication problems in relationships; or self-esteem or self-confidence problems, then I can help you.

No matter where you are in the world, I can help you.  Over more than twenty years of offering Telephone Counselling, I have found that this system is very effective, despite the lack of body language and face reading.  It is surprising how nuanced our voices can be in communicating subtleties that normally rely upon body language.

Telephone counselling is a well established alternative to face to face counselling. It is obviously better to have face to face contact with your counsellor or therapist, but in many situations this is impossible: for examples, during the Covid-19 pandemic; when you are disabled or house-bound; or when you live in an area that is not well served by coaches/counsellors/therapists; or perhaps there is nobody from the school of counselling that you prefer. (And, for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis, I will not be offering face-to-face counselling!)

Jim-hols-10002.jpgI will normally get your order within minutes of your signing up at PayPal, and I will normally respond to you within a few hours. Delivery of the mini-service is normally possible within a couple of days, and sometimes less than that.

The assessment process for the median service slows things down by about one or two days, normally.

And, in the case of the maxi-service, the writing of the follow-up report takes three or four days to produce, and sometimes longer!Man on phone
